June News

Poppy built me my very first boat. Someday soon it will be my sandbox.

My Aunt Janeen is engaged to Dax Chell. He suprised her on her way to work. It happened to be pajama dress up day at school and she was wearing pajamas with curlers and tissue paper in her hair.

We like going out to lunch with Dad. This was at La Hacienda, one of our favorites, and Unlce J.D. came along. He always give me the lemon from his iced tea and like to see me pucker.

My first wedding. We went to Anaheim for Dad's cousin Christina's wedding. Grandma Sohair and Cousin Ola held me a lot. Cousin Mark helped me drink water from a glass and made me laugh with his silly Cookie Monster voice. I really liked watching the belly dancer wave her bright orange scarf.

Dad and I spent Father's Day aboard Reel Love. There's no where else he'd rather be. We grilled fish on the back deck then spent the afternoon watching boats go by.

Peanuts & Cracker Jacks

Fisher's first ball game. Padres vs. Dodgers at Petco Park in San Diego with Granny & Poppy, the Beaches and lots of friends from church.

Is that soda you're drinking?
Should I be wearing this hat when the whole stadium is chanting BEAT L-A?

Mmmm... Thanks Granny. I like licorice!

(Don't worry licorice isn't a part of his Baby Super Foods diet.)

Yea, Padres Won!

Here Comes Trouble

At five months old... Fisher likes to "sing" at the top of his lungs, letting out shrill shreeks like a Whistling Pete firecracker. He has discovered Bosun and grabs his soft ears every chance he gets. Bo gently steps backwards, away from Fisher until he lets go. He is ticklish in his ribs and loves to giggle. He smiles and laughs when he's swung around and tossed up in the air.

Little Captain

I spent Memorial Day weekend at Catalina Island. The weather was beautiful. We visited with many of our friends who were also moored there for the weekend. I charmed the ladies at Fourth of July Yacht Club on Saturday and at Cherry Cove Yacht Club on Sunday. We met the owners of two Mikelson 61's, just like our new boat, who were also spending the weekend there.

Friday, after a long walk with Bosun to Cat Harbor on the back side of the Island we had lunch at the Harbor Reef Restaurant where I sat up on my own in a highchair.

The folks were nice enough to give me my own quarters. It was a cozy bunk in the side berth made up with a bed rail, crib bumpers and music box, just for me.

I'm eating solid food now and Mom perched me in my stroller on the back deck to enjoy an incredible view during my meal. I didn't want her to stop feeding me for a moment, even if it was to take a photo!

Saturday we hiked along the island from cove to cove with our friends the Giss'. Bosun had a great time running with their dogs Gus and Millie. We hiked out onto a point overlooking Cherry Cove where our boat was moored.

By Sunday we we had really settled into our relaxed mode. I enjoyed our dinghy rides though the coves looking at all the boats and everyone took a long afternoon nap.

Watch Me Roll

Fisher grabs his feet and rocks from side to side until he rolls over onto his tummy. From his tummy, propped up on his elbows he can drop to one side then swing over onto his back.

Family Features

Who does Fisher look like? Post your opinion in a comment. He has:
  • Dad's hair color, skin color, eye color, chin, ears, hands and feet
  • Papa John's eyes and nose, and his reaction of sneezing at light
  • Mom's...?

Spring Visits

Fisher visited his Grandma Sohair, Grandpa George, Great Grandma Teta and Cousin Ola in Northridge. He was spoiled with stuffed animals and lots of kisses.

He met Mom's friend from college, Tarra Messick, and had fun watching her children Audrey, Carson and Camden play.

Descanso Gardens were breathtaking during the Spring Festival of Flowers. Even though it was raining we enjoyed the 26,000 tulips with Melissa, Garrett and Danielle Ansiel.

Back home for Easter, Fisher babbled during church then napped through lunch at Great Gramma Rosie's. His cousins Ian, Serena, Demi, Julia and Carolyn loved playing with him. He is reaching for anything that catches his eye.

Happy Easter

Tuesday, April 11, 2006

Feeling great after a full night's sleep (finally!)
I grab my feet and babble at the top of my lungs. I "Do The Twist" and change positions in my crib. I like to kick my feet down and hear them bounce against the mattress.
My fingers are constantly in my mouth and I wear bibs to catch my drool. Thanks Megan for my new lobster teether.

Fisher's Dedication

Our pastor Michael Beach prayed for Fisher and his parents at church on Sunday. It was a special time to publicly commit him to the Lord, although we had done so in our hearts long ago. Our friends the Ansiels were visiting from L.A. with their chidren Garrett and Danielle. Family who attened the service included his Great Grandparents Sam & Rosie, Great Granny Melba, Grandparents John & Julie, Aunt Janeen, Uncle J.D., the Danesis and Uncle Sam. He was very good during the service and only whimpered at the end, about the time he thought Pastor Michael should be wrapping it up.

We celebrated afterwards with a lunch at our home of "Fishes and Loaves" (Fishsticks of course, since that's Mike's nickname for Fisher). Fisher's Granny Julie and Great Granny Melba sang "I will make you fishers of men" to him with hand motions of casting and reeling in. The centerpiece was a fish with the verse "Come follow Me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men." His Great Grandparents Sam & Rosie enjoyed spending time with him too.
Our friends from church the Beaches, Johnsons and Kornachuks. Uncle J.D. and Alison in the center.

Persistence Progress Report

Saturday we spent the day in Ensenada checking on Persistence and discussing the deck repair. The restoration is coming along well. Most of the odor is gone because the headliner, upholstery, carpet and damaged wood have all been removed and the remaining surfaces are being sealed. There is fresh gelcoat in the bilge and anchor locker and fresh paint behind drawers and appliances and in every other nook and crannie. While we were there they were painting above the headliner in the pilothouse. The deck repair is next, then we'll be ready for paneling and carpentry. Our friend Brian Ramage came along so Fisher and I entertained each other in the back seat of the car during our long drive from L.A. to Ensendad in the morning, and back to San Deigo in the afternoon. www.persistenceyacht.blogspot.com

Three Month Portraits

Kindermusic

Fisher and Thacker Popejoy attended their first Kindermusic class together. Thacker is one month younger than Fisher.

When Thacker cried, Fisher cried back in sympathy.

Before the crying, the boys enjoyed singing and movment during the class. Fisher likes to sing along and grins when we do hand motions.

Promoted to Management

Fisher got promoted from field work to management. Like all good managers, he likes to take an afternoon nap.

First Words?

Mike is convinced he heard Fisher say "Hook Up!" Or could it have been hiccup?

We've changed the blog setting so anyone may leave comments. We'd love to know who has visited, so please leave us a note.

Bath Time

Fisher loves bath time. He only cries when it's over. These photos are from 5 weeks old. He's too big now for the newborn sling and "sits" up in the tub on his own.

Reel Love

At 9 weeks old we enjoyed a beautiful day on the water in San Diego. It began with a dinghy ride to brunch at the yacht club, followed by an afternoon harbor cruise, naps, then dinner with friends. Fisher fought Mike for the wheel, but Mike won.

Two Month Check Up

Fisher weighed 12lbs 11oz and measured 24" long at his two month check up this week. His weight, length and head circumference were all in the 75th percentile. We're blessed with a healthy and very happy boy.
